Our Wedding

Like so many modern love stories, Ashley and Chase’s began with a simple swipe on the dating app, Hinge. A few exchanged messages and Ashley’s mom jumping in to convince her of a second date, quickly turned into something that felt easy and genuine — two old souls discovering how naturally their worlds fit together.They bonded over their love for the outdoors, their shared backgrounds in manufacturing, and a mutual appreciation for life’s simple joys — good food, good company, and a good laugh. From the beginning, their connection felt steady, real, and full of warmth.Early into their relationship, Chase began taking Ashley to Schweitzer Mountain to teach her how to ski. He was patient and encouraging, staying by her side as she learned (and fell). Between laughter (sometimes not laughter) and snow-covered wipe-outs, she realized that skiing wasn’t the only thing he was teaching her — he was showing her what steadfast love and support truly looks like.Chase can fix just about anything — from cars to household projects — but Ashley brought something into his life that can’t be tightened with a wrench: Stability. She introduced him to the beauty of routines, early mornings, and the occasional workout he didn’t exactly sign up for. Ashley keeps Chase on his toes by sprinkling in surprises along the way; from choosing overly-complicated recipes to last-minute projects with strict deadlines. Cheering each other on through life’s big moments, they have built a life full of laughter and love. Along the way, adopting the belief that the best days are the ones spent together—no matter where they are.After over a year of laughter, adventures, and building a life together, Chase proposed to Ashley on his prized duck boat — the legendary Quacker Whacker. The moment was perfectly fitting, unexpected, and unforgettable.Several months into their engagement, the two love-birds spend their time together laughing, exploring, and finding joy in every moment — from snowy slopes to lake days, to cozy nights in. Theirs is a love built on patience, humor, and the kind of companionship that feels like home.

Getting Here The easiest way to get here is to fly into Spokane International Airport (GEG) in Washington—it’s about a 2-hour drive to Schweitzer. The drive is gorgeous, with mountain views, pine trees, and a stretch along Lake Pend Oreille (we had to Google how to say it too: Pond-er-ay). Spokane Airport Website:<a href="https://www.spokaneairports.net/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.spokaneairports.net/</a> The Drive Once you land, grab a rental car and hop on I-90 East toward Coeur d’Alene, then head north on US-95 to Sandpoint. From there, follow the signs up the mountain to Schweitzer—it’s about 20 minutes to the top. Parking &amp; Getting Around If you’re staying at the resort, there’s free parking right on site. If you’re staying down in Sandpoint, there’s usually a shuttle that runs up the mountain (check Schweitzer’s site for times). Bonus Tip Make time to explore downtown Sandpoint—it’s a cute little mountain town with great food, coffee, and breweries. Lodging Accommodations in Schweitzer Village are all conveniently located within walking distance of our wedding venue. All hotels and condos are managed by Schweitzer Mountain Resort and can be booked directly through the resort. Online booking for Schweitzer lodging opens on May 1, so our wedding dates may not appear as available online just yet. If you’re making the trip to celebrate with us, you might as well make a weekend out of it! Between Schweitzer Mountain Resort and Sandpoint, Idaho, there’s no shortage of beautiful views, outdoor fun, and good food. Here are a few of our favorite things to check out. ⸻ Explore Schweitzer Take a scenic ride up the mountain for unbeatable views of Lake Pend Oreille, Sandpoint, and even into Canada on a clear day. At the top, you’ll find wildflowers, hiking trails, and The Sky House, a great restaurant with snacks and drinks. Browse local shops, grab a coffee at Evans Brothers, or have dinner and a drink at MickDuff’s Brewing Co. or Beet &amp; Basil by the water. ⸻ Hit the Lake You can’t visit Sandpoint without spending time on Lake Pend Oreille — Idaho’s largest and most stunning lake. Rent a boat, paddleboard, or kayak, or just hang out at City Beach downtown. Fun Fact: There is a Navy base on the lake with a full size Nuclear Submarine! Bikes are available for rental at Schweitzer's rental shop, right in The Village. E-bike rentals and guided tours are also available for anyone who wants the views without the climb. ⸻ Relax &amp; Take in the Views Honestly, one of the best things to do here is nothing at all. Grab a drink at Crow’s Bench, find a comfortable chair, and enjoy the mountain air and lake views. Bonus points if there’s live music in the Schweitzer village (there usually is on weekends).

What is the Dress Code? We’d love for you to dress in Semi-Formal/Cocktail attire—smart-casual dresses or skirts for women, and dress shirts with slacks for men. Shoes: Please plan for walking on gravel or dirt paths around the resort, so comfortable, sturdy footwear is recommended. Coats &amp; Layers: Even in spring or summer, mountain weather can be chilly, especially in the evening—bring a light coat or warm layer so you can stay cozy while enjoying the celebration! When do I need to RSVP by? Please RSVP by Friday, May 15th. Chairlifts? Yes! Our ceremony is at the top of the mountain. There is a ~11 minute chairlift ride to the top. Don’t worry—it’s perfectly safe, but do hold onto your hats and hairdos. Please keep this in mind for your outfits too! Where Should I Stay? Check out the Travel section of the website for more info on places to stay at the mountain! There are also cabins rentable through the resort and plenty of Airbnb/VRBO houses on the mountain and in Sandpoint. Are Kids Welcome? As much as we love kids, our wedding weekend is planned for adults only. This way, everyone can fully enjoy the mountain festivities and dance the night away!
